BIRMINGHAM, England — Rebecca Struthers, the British watchmaker and restorer who gained her doctorate in horology in 2017, is trying her hand at a little something a bit different: She is creating a book.

“Hands of Time: A Watchmaker’s History” is a seem at the heritage, art and science of horology, together with her activities with some of the watches she writes about.
